Principles part one

You Know the differences between living a lawful life and a principled life is on the surface similar but once you scracth the surface a little they are hugely different. You remember back in school well there where lots of rules, and unless you where a " brown noser " you spent most of your time getting around those rules. a big thing in high school was drinking in class, it sounds ridiculous but that's what me and my friends spent a lot of our time doing. As you can well imagine my highschool wasn't any different then any other, drinking and drugs where forbidden, but that was only a problem if you got caught.
the thing about rules is there is always away around them, some people spend their entire lives working on getting around the rules, rules become a game. Can anyone relate to that? I don't know of any one that has played by the rules their entire lives. Speed limits are rules . How many people drive the speed limit all the time? The song " I can't drive 55 " rings true to the word. Rules in a lot of ways are made to be broken.
A princable on the other hand is on wavering.
Can any of you think of how any rules you bent in your life? I sure can. But what about the principle that you live your life by, be them God's or your own we all kind of stick to them.
I'm not sure what really brought this on but I get thinking of the Beatitudes, to Me they are Jesus principles. It was his longest sermon ever he basically describes what he is looking for in follower of Jesus, he calls us to live out these traits in our homes businesses and hearts. To some it may be hard to sallow because its the complete opposite of what the world expects from us, but we all should give are heads a shake! Is it the world that we should be trying to please? Of coarse not! Just another lie! It is the lord Jesus who we are to be please! How can we not! Why are we so absorbed by the world and trying to impress one an other?

Matthew Chapter 5 ( niv)

Now when he saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them, saying:

"Blessed is the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

Blessed are the merciful for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the pure of heart, for they will see God.

Blessed are the peace makers, for they will be called the sons of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of their righteousness, for their kingdom is the kingdom of heaven.

"Blessed are you when people insult you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me, Rejoice and be glad, because great is the reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who where before you.

Jesus teaches about salt and light

" you are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? Its is nolonger good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.

" you are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and puts it under a bowl. Instead you put it on a stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your father in heaven.

Jesus teaches about the law

" Do not think that I have came to abolish the law or the prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappears, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen. Will by any means disapear from the law until everything is accomplished. Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commandments will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpass that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certaninly not enter the kingdom of heaven

Jesus Teaches about anger

" you have heard that it was said to the people long ago,' Do not murder and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.' But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again anyone who says , to his brother, 'Raca, (an aramaic term for contempt ) is answerable to the sanhedrin. But anyone who says , 'you fool!' will be in danger of hell.

" Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the alter and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there infront of the alter. First go and be reconciled with your brother; then come offer your gift.

" settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Do it while you are still with him on your way, or he may hand you over to a judge, and that judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison. I tell you the truth, you will not get out till you paid the last penny .

Jesus Teaches about Lust

" You have heard that it is said, ' Do not commit adultery.' But I tell you that anyone that looks at a women lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go to hell.

Jesus Teaches about Divorce

" It has been said,' Anyone that divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce,' But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become a adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced women commits adultery.

Jesus Teaches about Vows

"Again, you have heard that it is said to the people long ago,' Do not break your oath, but keep your oaths you have made to the Lord.' But I tell you , Do not swear atall: either by heaven, for it is Gods throne; or by earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. And do not swear by your head, for you can not make even one hair white or black. Simply make your 'yes' be 'yes, ' and your ' no' be 'no'; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.

Jesus Teaches about Retaliation

"you have heard it said, ' Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth. But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek,turn to him the other also. And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and donot turn away from the one who wants to borrow off you.

Jesus Teaches about Loving Enemies

" you have heard that it is said,' Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you :Love your enemies and prey for those who persecute you, that you may be son's of your father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous, if you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more then others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Crashing World

I must be getting old? Is that the problem? Or is this world crashing into the pits of hell faster then a hungrey dog after scraps? I was wacthing the Teen Choice awards with my wife just a bit ago. I had to get the heck out of the room, it was making me sick! You know I've deleted this line that I'm typing right now about 5 times to try and explian this utter disguest!!! I'll tell you it's not becouse any of it was hard on the eyes, it just made me sick to my soul! To think what we as a socity are passing off to are young people as 'Cool' as 'Fun' as 'sexy'.!!!!!!!
Although My Boys are far from being teen's. It scares me what will be acceptable in another ten years. Today on the teen choice awards there is a hot tub with Biknee wearing girls up at the pulput. The Host was rubbing the Breasts of a manakine. Whats going to happen in ten years are they going to be naked teen's up there? Today what message are we sending the mothers of tomorow? Is that really fair to them to grow up thinking that they have to become sex objects to be accepted? To be happy? Just another lie fead to or youth! I don't have a daughter but I think all daughters deserve better then what there getting now.

living lies part 4

What really is it to be a Christain? Is it really somthing that you can gauge, by what we see with our own human eyes? I'm not sure if that's really the case. When I was saved it was a real personal experiance, I didn't have anyone there sheperding me through a salvation prayer- I didn't even know what a salvatoin prayer was, all I was equipt with was a handfull of scattered seeds, droped into my head by focus on the family, the example set by my motherin law Bernice & Norma Humfrey, and a broken an humbled spirt. I was saved, I opened my Heart to Jesus that night not really knowing what salvation in him was, But I was saved all the same.
I then get thinking of my friend Shane ( I know he is saved ) ( sorry shane if I got the age wrong ) But he tell's of being 7 years old and riding in the car with his mother and taking Jesus into his heart and being saved.
I also get thinking of a new friend of mine named Derrick, he was saved when he was 23 at a bussnissmens Fellowship confrence.
All three salvations are at three different spectrums of life and in experiance. How then can we gauge eachothers salvation? Is it possible to know if someone is saved or not? We as Christain's talk about a personal relationship with Christ, and it is with out any questoin! So How is it that we are passing judgements on eachother weather we are saved or not? Yes it is true that we are to be known by our Fruits as Jesus said in

John Chapter 15 5-8

" I am the Vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given to you. This is to my Father's Glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourself to be my disiples."

But what are our fruits? If you asked me what fruits where shortly after I would of smartly replied, " Oranges, apples, grapes, and pine apples". I'm not kidding I would have! Does that mean I wasn't saved? Of coarse not all. it means is I hadn't got to spiritral Kindergarden yet, I hadn't been taught yet. What does disiples mean? It's literal meaning in greek is apprentice. when that was explained to me that really opened my eyes we are learning everyday to be christ like. This is what Pual and Jesus meant by Fruit.

Galatains 5; 19-23

The acts of sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and wicthcraft;hatred,discord,m jeolousey, fits of rage, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Against such things there is no law.

In some ways we are to become God's friut inspecters. We as christains do not have the authorty to judge or condemm anyone!

Hebrews chapter 10;23-24

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithfull. And let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds.

living lies part three

So why is it the Larry the cable guy, James Bond, and Stone cold steve Austin. Don't reconize their God giving right to the world? Why have I missed it myself for the majority of my life? We as human beings God's creation in his own likeness, just can't shake that origanal sin can we, and the origanal lies that the devil told Adom and Eve.

Genesis chapter 3 1-7

Now the serpent was more crafty then any of the wild animals the lord God has made. He said to the women," Did God really say,'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?

The women said to the serpent," We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say,' you must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.'"

You will not surley die," the serpent said to the women. " For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

When the women saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also discribed for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. she also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

There you have it that first sin, and the birth of what we now call the fasoin industry ( that has become a God of it's own ), does it sound familar to you? it does to me. It seems that is what i battle everyday, not that there is a snake in the bush egging me on into rotton behavior, but i'm sure everyone has a little voice saying "it's ok I wont tell- hehehe". Why are we so dumb as human beings that we more often then not don't learn from our mistakes.

living lies part 2

You know if you asked me what it was to be a real man a couple years ago, I would of gave you kind of a cross between Steve Austin ( the wrestler ) Larry the cable guy, James Bond, and my Grandfathers. It really is sad how TV and other media manipulates the minds of the people that wacth it. My explaination of what a man was with the exception of my grandfathers was based almost solely on fictional TV charactors, That either drank beer or martinees, womeniziers, where funny, daring, and tough.In alot of ways that is who I tried to be. I wonder if Larry the cable guy acts like that at home? I wonder What god thinks about his behavoir?

Genesis chapter 1 26-31

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

God blessed them and said to them," Be fruitful and increase in number;fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and everyliving creature that moves oon the ground."

Then God said " I give you every seed bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground- everything that has the breath of life in it- I give every green plant for food." And it was so.

God saw all that he had made, and it was good. and there was evening, and there was morning - the sixth day.

I wonder if James Bond, Larry the cable guy, or Steve Austin ever relized what God has giving us, and really what he intended for us to be doing?

It's funny how the world is constantly changing. or maybe a better way of putting it - Degrading. Just in my life time if iI look at the last 15 years every year, everyday,everything becomes just a little more immoral.
You look at the evolotoin of music 15 years ago a racey song was " Pump up the jam " by technotonic, Metalica was rocking the air ways with "whiskey in the Jar0" and Garth Brooks was making millons with "friends in low places". As riska as they where there wasn't to many school yard shootings.
Now today we have 50 cent packing 9mm and dusting crack heads. Marlynn Manson and the whole Goth Bull shit! And our beloved Dixie Chicks singing "Earls gotta die" ( Earl did have to die or be born again )
What our we hearing on the news? seems like we can't get through the week with out hearing about some kid killing another, a mother killing her children, a 12 year old girl dating a 23 year old man and the two of them killing her parents and family......... I can go on but I don't think I need to you all hear the news. It's a outrage! Why is this happening?
It's pretty easy to blaim socity. It's pretty easy to blaim the media. But really is that the problem? Or is the problem closer to home then we all care to really look. Is the problem sitting in our CD players? is the the problem in our DVD players? Is the problem with the programing and the programs we chose to watch on our TV's? I think the answer is yes, it starts at home, the problem starts with our own personal choices, everytime we buy a CD is like your voting for the next priminister of Canada, but we are voting over the demoralization of a a genaration, of a nation, of a world. You might ask yourself, how can that 1 $14.99 CD that I bought last week, help a kid in Medicine hat fall in love with a 23 year old and kill her family? Well it's simple- if there wasn't a demand for it they wouldn't be making it. It's a fact that if the world wanted to hear gospal music, sony and virgin would be producing it, it's all about money with them, if the sounds from the inside of a pig barn would sell a millon records they would be producing it. We live in a generation of shock, and shock sells. What is it to be a man in today's world? What is it to be a Women in todays world? What does God have in mind for us? Are they the same?
